The takeaway: Both APC and CPH offer occurrence-based Professional Liability and defense costs outside the liability limits. The larger differences are in coverage limits, what is included in the annual price, and how additional protections are structured. APC provides higher liability limits and several built-in protections at $275 per year, while the CPH configuration reviewed combines a $386 Professional Liability policy with $170 General Liability and offers additional business protections through optional coverage.
APC vs. CPH Insurance
Compare the policy features that may matter most when choosing liability insurance for your coaching practice.
Both APC and CPH use occurrence-based Professional Liability and keep covered defense costs outside the liability limits. APC provides higher $2M / $4M Professional and General Liability limits and includes several additional protections within its Professional membership. The CPH Life Coach configuration reviewed provides $1M / $3M limits and uses a more modular structure, with General Liability and several business protections added separately.
About the CPH price: The $556 annual amount reflects the Life Coach configuration quoted in September 2026: $386 for Professional Liability + $170 for General Liability. Optional CPH TOP property coverage, Business Income / Extra Expense, Cyber coverage, and other optional enhancements are not included in that amount.
CPH information reflects a Life Coach quote completed in September 2026, CPH published coverage materials, and the MedPro policy specimen reviewed for this comparison. Some CPH TOP and Cyber details shown reflect CPH’s published optional coverage materials; availability for the exact Life Coach configuration and certain benefit limits are still being confirmed. Coverage, pricing, eligibility, limits, and policy terms can change. CPH Insurance has not reviewed, authorized, sponsored, or endorsed this comparison.
Where APC and CPH Insurance Are Similar
Although APC and CPH differ in liability limits, included protections, optional coverage, and pricing, they also share several important policy features.
Professional + General Liability
Both APC and CPH offer Professional Liability and General Liability protection for coaching businesses. APC combines both within its Professional membership, while CPH offers General Liability as an optional addition to its Professional Liability policy.
Occurrence-Based Professional Liability
Both APC and the CPH policy reviewed use occurrence-based Professional Liability, meaning coverage is tied to when the covered incident occurred during the active policy period.
Defense Costs Outside the Limits
Both programs keep covered defense costs outside the liability limits, so covered legal defense expenses do not reduce the stated liability limit available for settlements or judgments.
A++ Financial Strength Ratings
Both programs are backed by insurers with A++ (Superior) A.M. Best ratings. APC coverage is provided through Philadelphia Insurance Companies, while the CPH program reviewed is backed by MedPro Group.
These similarities give both programs a strong foundation for comparison. The more meaningful differences are in liability limits, what is included in the annual price, Additional Insured structure, business property and income protection, misconduct coverage, optional add-ons, and total annual cost.
Where APC and CPH Insurance Differ
The biggest differences are in liability limits, what is included in the annual price, how multiple services and occupations are handled, business property and income protection, optional coverage, and total annual cost.
1. Liability Limits
APC provides $2 million each occurrence / $4 million aggregate for both Professional Liability and General Liability. The CPH Life Coach configuration reviewed provides $1 million per occurrence / $3 million aggregate for both. CPH also offered a Professional Liability option with a $6 million aggregate, while the per-occurrence limit remained $1 million.
2. More Protections Are Built Into APC
APC Professional and Premium include Client Accident Protection, Identity Theft Protection, Assault & Battery liability coverage, Business Personal Property, and Business Income / Extra Expense. CPH provides some related protections through its policy and publishes additional business protections through optional CPH TOP and related endorsements.
3. Multimodality and Additional Occupations
APC is designed for coaches whose practices may include multiple coaching, wellness, or holistic services within one membership level. CPH can also accommodate more than one occupation, but additional occupations or services may require underwriting. CPH states that a second occupation may sometimes be included at no additional charge, while other services can result in an additional premium depending on the occupation and risk.
4. Damage to Premises Rented
APC provides $300,000 Damage to Premises Rented with no restrictive rental-day limit. CPH’s published CPH TOP materials describe $250,000 Fire & Water Legal Liability for rented premises, with no stated rental-day limit in the materials reviewed. Applicability to the exact Life Coach configuration is still being confirmed.
5. Client Accident Protection
APC Professional and Premium include separate Client Accident Protection with $25,000 in medical benefits, up to $50,000 in accidental death, dismemberment and paralysis benefits, and a $500,000 aggregate. The CPH policy includes a Medical Payments benefit, but we have not identified a separate comparable Client Accident Protection benefit. The exact Life Coach Medical Payments limits are still being verified.
6. Business Property and Income Are Structured Differently
APC Professional and Premium include $10,000 of Business Personal Property + $10,000 of Business Income / Extra Expense. CPH publishes optional CPH TOP coverage with $15,000 of BPP for $150/year, subject to a $500 deductible. Business Income / Extra Expense can be added with a $250,000 limit for $50/year when the required CPH TOP coverages are also purchased.
7. Cyber and Misconduct Coverage
APC Cyber coverage is optional at $149/year with $100,000 per privacy claim / $250,000 aggregate. CPH publishes optional Cyber options at $87 or $141/year with $15,000 or $25,000 limits; Life Coach eligibility is still being confirmed. APC also offers optional Sexual Misconduct & Abuse liability coverage for $169/year, while the CPH policy reviewed provides a defense-expense benefit only for sexual or physical misconduct allegations, with the Life Coach-specific limit still being verified.
8. Annual Cost and Policy Structure
APC Professional is $275 per year and includes both Professional Liability and General Liability. The CPH Life Coach quote reviewed was $386 for Professional Liability + $170 for General Liability, for a combined annual premium of $556. Optional CPH TOP, property, Business Income, Cyber, and other enhancements can increase the total cost.
The main takeaway: APC and CPH share two important strengths: occurrence-based Professional Liability and defense costs outside the liability limits. The larger differences are in the amount of liability protection, which benefits are included automatically, how multiple services and occupations are handled, how business property and income coverage are added, and total annual cost. CPH offers some higher optional limits, while APC includes multiple business and client protections and built-in multimodality within its $275 Professional membership.
How Much Do APC and CPH Insurance Cost?
The pricing structures are different. APC Professional includes both Professional Liability and General Liability in one annual price, while CPH prices Professional Liability and General Liability separately and offers several additional business protections as optional coverage.

CPH offers higher optional business-property-related limits. For example, CPH publishes $15,000 of optional Business Personal Property coverage for $150 per year and $250,000 of Business Income / Extra Expense coverage for $50 per year when the required CPH TOP coverages are in place.
APC takes a different approach by including $10,000 of Business Personal Property and $10,000 of Business Income / Extra Expense within the $275 Professional membership. The better structure depends on whether you value included baseline protection or need substantially higher optional business-income limits.
Price alone does not tell the full story. The CPH configuration reviewed costs more for Professional Liability and General Liability, but CPH also offers some higher optional business-property-related limits for practitioners who need them. APC Professional provides higher $2M / $4M liability limits and includes Client Accident Protection, Identity Theft Protection, Assault & Battery liability coverage, $10K of Business Personal Property, and $10K of Business Income / Extra Expense within its $275 annual price.
Pricing reflects the configurations and published coverage information reviewed in September 2026 and is not a binding quote. CPH pricing, eligibility, optional coverage availability, and policy terms can vary by state, profession, coverage selection, and underwriting. Cyber eligibility and certain Life Coach-specific benefit limits are still being confirmed.
Which May Be the Better Fit?
Both APC and CPH can provide occurrence-based Professional Liability protection for coaches. The better fit depends on the liability limits you want, which protections you want included, and whether you prefer an all-in-one structure or more optional coverage selections.
The choice is largely about how you want your coverage structured. APC provides higher per-occurrence liability limits, more protections already included, and a lower PL + GL annual price in the configurations reviewed. CPH offers a more modular approach and some higher optional limits, including a $6M Professional Liability aggregate option and substantially higher optional Business Income / Extra Expense coverage.
A Key Similarity: Both Use Occurrence-Based Coverage
Unlike some coach liability insurance comparisons, policy form is not a major difference between APC and CPH. Both use occurrence-based Professional Liability, so coverage is tied to when the covered incident occurred during the active policy period.

APC: Occurrence-Based
With APC’s occurrence-based Professional Liability coverage, the key date is when the incident happened. If the incident occurred while the policy was active, a claim reported later can still fall under that policy period, even after the policy has ended, subject to the policy terms.
CPH: Occurrence-Based
The CPH Professional Liability policy reviewed is also occurrence-based. The wrongful act must take place during the policy period, so the incident date determines which policy period may respond to a later claim.
Why this matters: Because both programs use occurrence-based Professional Liability, coaches do not have to choose between APC and CPH based on occurrence vs. claims-made protection. The more meaningful differences are the liability limits, included protections, optional business coverage, policy structure, and annual cost.
Another important similarity: Both APC and the CPH policy reviewed keep covered defense costs outside the liability limits, so covered legal defense expenses do not reduce the stated liability limit available for settlements or judgments.
Coverage is subject to the terms, conditions, limits, exclusions, eligibility requirements, and reporting provisions of the applicable policy.

CPH Life Coach Quote Reviewed
We completed a CPH Life Coach quote in September 2026. The Professional Liability selection reviewed provided $1M per occurrence / $3M aggregate for $386 per year. The quote also offered a $1M per occurrence / $6M aggregate Professional Liability option.
General Liability with $1M per occurrence / $3M aggregate was available for $170 per year, bringing the PL + GL configuration used in this comparison to $556 per year.
We also reviewed the MedPro policy specimen. The specimen identifies the Professional Liability coverage as occurrence-based and states that covered defense costs are paid in addition to the liability limits rather than reducing them. It also confirms benefits such as Medical Payments to Others, Assault or Battery Upon You, and a defense-expense provision for sexual or physical misconduct allegations.
We reviewed CPH’s published optional coverage information as well. This included CPH TOP Business Personal Property coverage, Identity Theft Expense, Fire & Water Legal Liability for rented premises, Business Income / Extra Expense coverage, Cyber options, Additional Insured guidance, and carrier information. Where these published options were not shown directly within the Life Coach quote flow, we identify that distinction on this page.
When a Life Coach-specific detail could not be verified, we identify it as such. The CPH quote moved from coverage selection directly to payment and did not display a complete schedule of supplemental benefit limits. As a result, items such as the exact Life Coach Medical Payments limit, Sexual Misconduct defense-expense limit, certain Additional Insured details, and eligibility for some published optional coverages are identified as being confirmed rather than assumed.
This comparison is based on information reviewed in September 2026 and is intended for educational purposes. Coverage details, pricing, eligibility requirements, policy forms, optional coverage availability, and carrier information can change. CPH Insurance has not reviewed, authorized, sponsored, or endorsed this comparison.
